This research examines the life and work of Enrique Marañón Reyes. A descriptive methodology with a chronological and qualitative approach was applied, supported by analysis-synthesis, historical-logical and documentary review methods, which enabled the triangulation of information and provided a scientifically accurate account. The findings show that he was born in Santiago de Cuba on 27 March 1941. From his university days, he demonstrated his commitment to the Revolution, founding the Association of Young Rebels. After graduating as an Electrical Engineer, he pursued a distinguished scientific career, eventually obtaining a Doctorate in Technical Sciences. He served as rector for over twenty years; with his wife Miriam, he raised a family whom he cherished deeply. He was President of the South-Eastern Branch of the Cuban Academy of Sciences. He passed away on 26 February 2026; his teachings, his work and his enduring legacy will remain as beacons to light the way forward.
