Sociocultural Animation Project Proposal to Prevent Smoking Among Youngsters in El Tivolí Neighborhood

Abstract

Tobacco is today among the most serious social problems worldwide, mainly because it is a phenomenon with cultural roots that has transcended through generations. This makes enormously difficult its prevention and decrease, affecting the health and life quality of those that consume it. The goal of this investigation is to show the incidence of sociocultural factors in the elevation of the number of tobacco consumers among young people in El Tivolí, the community object of the study, which will make possible, with the use of the Sociocultural Animation methodology, to present a project that contribute to stimulate the participation of community members in activities that might help minimize this problem in the community, with the assistance of the organizations and institutions of the area.
