Educational strategy for comprehensive sexual education for the training of adolescents in reproductive health

Abstract

An educational strategy of Comprehensive Sexual Education was designed for the training of Basic Secondary adolescents, in the period August 2023 to March 2024, in Santiago de Cuba, based on the theoretical model of the dynamics of the educational orientation of the promotion of sexual and reproductive health in adolescents, from the school-family-community link. The objective was proposed to train educational counselors in Comprehensive Sexual Education through postgraduate courses, participation in adolescent groups of professionals, as well as intervention in the mass media. The mixed methodology was used, with the theoretical methods: historical-logical, hermeneutical and analysis-synthesis; the empirical methods: the training of the Participation Action Intervention, the case study, the functional systemic-structural method, the online survey, the interview; and as a statistical-mathematical method, descriptive statistics. Two postgraduate training courses for educational counselors in Comprehensive Sexual Education were developed, a group of adolescents with four sessions and four presentations in the mass media. The effectiveness, efficiency, functionality and impact of the implemented educational strategy were evaluated, achieving compliance with the proposed objectives and manifestations of protagonism, responsibility, deepening the counselors' knowledge of themselves and their training processes. educational. It was possible to promote superior preparation in the promotion of sexual and reproductive health in the stage of adolescence with projection towards the design of intervention strategies.
