The organization of logistics in the third guerrilla front: a tactical necessity

Abstract

On how logistics were organized in the Third Guerrilla Front in 1958 and the M-26-7 cells and their corresponding organs were articulated to supply the guerrillas of this Front, the investigation is motivated by the need to build a narrative that overcomes the deficient attention given by Cuban historiography to the study of the organization of this device in line with the rise of the national liberation process, the emergence of new areas of operations of the Rebel Army such as the Third Front and the effective and inclusive compliance by of the command in charge of Commander Juan Almeida, of the strategic conception of Fidel Castro based on the organization of logistics in the entrusted zone of operations.The particularities in which the logistics activity was developed in the Third Front, history, socio-economic, political and cultural context, as well as the collaborative practices carried out under the direction of the MR-26-7, were studied. The main original documentary sources, oral and written testimonies together with the scientific methods used allowed interpreting, analyzing and reconstructing meanings of a necessary social reality from a scientific perspective and thereby contributing to the understanding of regional, national and local history.
