Abstract

The research Aurora Pie Yan: a living legend of Haitian cultural traditions  in  Guantanamo  is a  story of  life, based  on personal experience of this representative figure of traditional folkculture in  Guantanamo. It  is proposed  to  determine  the cultural contributions  of  Aurora  Pie  Yan  to the  transmission and conservation  of  the Voodoo  religion in  the  group  Los Cosiá. The ethnographic method, which allowed  a personal  and  direct
approach  to  context,  life history  and  techniques  of content analysis  focused on  literature search  were  used;  in the analysis of the videos that  were conducted,  participant observation and in-depth interviews,  which ensured the  fulfillment of the  objective.
