Abstract

This investigation has been realized in Ghana and specifically its capital Accra, due to high concentration of it population in this zone, also its where the problem of solid waste can be visualized at its highest level simply because most is duly managed adequately, by this it can be observed that waste is not managed well and this brings about the high contamination of solid waste in this community. The magnitude of this situation has called for involvement of stakeholder and mainly has been addressed technologically. Before this situation, the articulation of different social factors on solid waste has denoted the existence of an anti-ecological attitude by individuals coupled with non-functional political rules, lack of adequate attitudes by institutions and the social construction made by its populace towards solid waste management. All this mentioned brings about negative consequence in the area of health, environment, education, economy and finally public policy. By this it becomes impossible for individual and collective actors to internalize the act of an adequate means of managing waste as a resource.
