José Antonio Portuondo Valdor, a distinguished university professor from Santiago, constantly suported and collaborated with the House of Higher Studies and the Santiago magazine. The objective of this work is to assess the links between José Antonio Portuondo and the Santiago magazine of the Universidad de Oriente. We define his contributions as the author of various topics, his constant assessment of the behavior of the university journal and the contribution of the publication to the study of his work and to the recognition of his intellectual career.
