The Lyric Feminine Subject in the Periodicals in Santiago de Cuba During XIX Century: Notes for a Characterization

Abstract

In Santiago de Cuba, during the second half of the nineteenth century, there was a cultural environment that favored the emergence of different periodicals were ordered to disclose, among other genres, poetic creations of the time. The topic of the woman and her multiple social roles was one of the themes worked. In this article, some generalities about the female lyrical subject of the nineteenth century appeared in the poetry of these newspapers are available, the analysis of some of them is made, which can offer general considerations as to the projection of the lyrics over the years and his relationship with women.
