Abstract

In evaluating the figure of Frank País, the leader of the underground insurrectional movement in Santiago de Cuba during the struggle against the Batista dictatorship, the national historiography emphasizes his political career, neglecting, on occasion, other fundamental aspects of its humanistic heritage, including truncates them his poetic production. This paper provides the reader with preliminary approaches regarding this facet of the revolutionary leader, little known by the critic.
