Abstract

In the last times their have been carried out investigations on diverses topics of the history of the University of Oriente,  nevertheless even you can continue contributing the one knowledge of our famous house of high studies. Starting from the victory of the Cuban revolution, January 1ro 1959, tooks very importants measures that they changed and they sat down the pillars for a new university. Which had as essential purpose to create a center of superior studies with a scientific and educational appropriate. Through the present work it will be given to know an event that happened in the year of 1959 in the university enclosure, and it was the demand for part of the Student Federation Universitaria de Oriente of the renouncement of two members of the cloister, the then Rector Dr. Felipe Salcines Morlote y el profesor Dr. Max Figueroa Araujo.
