Scientific Production on Maintenance Rights and Judicial Efficiency in Ecuador, 2000-2025: A Bibliometric Study

This study aligns with Sustainable Development Goal 16 (Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions) by systematizing the available scientific evidence on the protection and enforceability of maintenance rights. Through a descriptive-categorical bibliometric analysis of documents retrieved from Scopus, Web of Science Core Collection, SciELO, and Dialnet, 98 initial records were identified; after cleaning, the main corpus consisted of 51 Ecuadorian documents, complemented by 10 regional studies for comparative support. Publications were concentrated between 2020 and 2025, peaking in 2024. The dominant topics were maintenance rights, the determination or modification of payments, and compliance or enforcement. The findings reveal a recent and fragmented field, primarily focused on the enforceability of maintenance rights. Further metadata normalization is recommended to support broader relational analyses in future research.
