Bosch to meet Marxism

Abstract

Inquiring into Caribbean social, economic, political and philosophical thinking is a decisive factor in discovering the essentials of our foundational roots and revealing the factors that influence the libertarian spirit and the sovereign and independence character of our peoples, marked by centuries of colonial exploitation and neocolonial. This work is part of this effort, based on the approach to the figure of Juan Bosch and Gaviño, an outstanding Dominican politician and writer whose thinking is located in the best of the anti-imperialist, Latin American, Caribbean and universal tradition.  In the effort to launch the development of the Dominican Republic, his thinking moves from that positivist worldview inherited from Eugenio María de Hostos until he met Marxism from important events that marked his life and the radicalization of his thinking.
