Keywords:
Universidad de Oriente, cuban historiography, school of History.Abstract
Since its first years the Universidad de Oriente contributes to the development of Cuban historiography. Through 70 years, the professors and graduates have enriched the history’s knowledge, specially the aboriginal archeology, regional history of the east of Cuba and the 19th Century Independent Wars. This contribute was more evident since the foundation of School of History in 1962. This fact means the beginning of a new period in the historical researches in the east of the Island. Other intellectuals of the University without direct connections with School of History have contributed too.References
