stract. The presence of figures of great transcendence for the Cuban towns constituted an incentive to carry out the fight against the
Spanish colonialism. The municipality of Consolación del Sur was
bound to the general lieutenant's personality Antonio Maceo Grajales
during the war of 1895 like part of the invasion to West culminating
the day January 22 in Mantua. The entrance of Maceo to Pinar del Rio
would determine an enthusiastic incorporation to the independence
fight, starting from the preparations that had been carried out during
