The beginnings of the Universidad de Oriente in the perspective of Portuondo: a revealing document

The letter sent by José Antonio Portuondo to Professor Pedro Cañas Abril, on December 15, 1952, is a trascendental document about the main events of the Universidad de Oriente during its gestation and consolidation process. The full publication of this letter has the objetive of disseminating the conceptions and academic projections of Portuondo to improve university life. Is a tribute to the house of higher studies on its seventy-fifth anniversary and, at the same time, to its author, one of its most remembered professors?
