Abstract

Briefly outlines the rationale for the proclamation of the Law on the Reform of Higher Education in Cuba and key education-related history and culture, which constituted milestones in the action taken by the Cuban Revolution. Similarly, it is specifically analysis around the focus, role and importance it had for the national culture and its impact on the University of Oriente. Finally, an assessment is made of the meaning of the reform for university life and for society as a whole.
