Abstract

Background: Cognitive development in early childhood is a progressive process through which children organize and reconstruct knowledge based on interaction with their physical and social environment. Objective: The objective of this research was to design a pedagogical resource based on the Glenn Doman method to strengthen cognitive development in children from Initial 1 at the "Casa de la Cultura Ecuatoriana Benjamín Carrión," Santo Domingo de los Tsáchilas core. Methodology: A mixed-methods approach (qualitative-quantitative) was applied, with a descriptive-projective scope and a non-experimental cross-sectional design. This approach allowed for the analysis of the influence of multisensory strategies on skills such as attention, memory, language, and classification. For data collection, a structured interview was administered to teachers, and an observation scale was applied to students. Results: The findings revealed that most children are at the "beginning" and "in process" levels regarding key cognitive skills; however, those exposed to visual stimuli and structured activities showed better performance. Conclusion: It is concluded that the application of the Doman method principles significantly favors cognitive development, especially in attention, retention, and comprehension, proving to be a pertinent pedagogical strategy for early childhood education
