Abstract

In Cuban colonial historiography remained the traditional tendency of trying to deepen the national history from a military fact. We propose the following objectives: Demonstrate the contribution of historians Santiago studies concerning the colonial period from its participation in the National Congress of History made during the period 1942-1960. The Santiago who participated in these great events contributed significantly to the Cuban history through its protagonist, systematic and enriching participation. Projecting the studies referred to the beginnings of colonization, enabling important historical corrections. Historiographical contribution to the independence wars occurs through demonstrations, claims and adjustments, a necessary confrontation with the anti-national and pro-American historiography.
