Abstract

The teaching of English has a great social and cultural significance, because today, this language is increasingly important in all spheres of human life, principally in those associated with scientific and technological development for international cooperation among all the peoples of the world. However, there is a progressively need of supporting, from the epistemological point of view, how to deal with multicultural societies with the support of science and technology. For that reason, it is convenient to provide suitable information and elaborate strategies for the teaching of foreign languages and in English in particular, to facilitate an adequate communication among Ecuadorian students, whose  ethnic origins mark  them with a cultural diversity that require  a specific treatment for a better learning of this language.
