Analysis of environmental awareness: a systematic review used in regular basic education in Peru

Promoting environmental awareness in basic education students guarantees the sustainability over time of the natural resources of our planet and therefore of future generations. In this sense, a systematic review was developed to recognize the scientific production that exists about environmental awareness and to make decisions, from 2021 to 2023, using the Prisma protocol for the SCOPUS search. Inclusion criteria were taken into account which were original articles in English, which had a publication date up to December 2023, postgraduate university students who applied various strategies for the development of environmental awareness in regular elementary education students. Forty-two studies were selected in six categories: First, the need to implement pro-environmental programs and projects in schools is highlighted. In addition, the
use of technological tools is emphasized. The practice of environmental approaches and dimensions. The management of sustainable strategies. The development of the ecological narrative and, finally, the importance of policies. It was concluded that the use of programs and strategies improve environmental awareness in a comprehensive manner.
