Influence of Managerial Competencies on Educational Leadership: A Qualitative Analysis in Educational Centers in Ecuador, 2024

The objective of this research was to analyze the influence of managerial competencies on educational leadership and to understand the needs that emerge in educational centers based on these competencies. A qualitative approach with a non-experimental design was applied, using comparative analysis supported by bibliographic and documentary sources. The study focused on four dimensions: administrative knowledge, leadership, communication skills, and ethical values. The results show that directors require attitudes and competencies that enable them to resolve conflicts, foster collaboration, and work in teams, highlighting the importance of exercising effective leadership. It was found that the predominant management model is cooperative and intrusive; however, supervision and accompaniment are perceived as control mechanisms that limit autonomy and professional development. These findings underscore the need to strengthen managerial competencies to consolidate a participatory and transformative educational leadership.
