Newsroom integration in Cuba: between challenge and need

Abstract

In Cuba, for several years, some researchers agreed that the newsroom convergence is considered as an irreversible path, a reality that should be analyzed and consequently a great challenge for Cuban journalism. However, although some media have assumed the integrating tendency, it has not yet found a notable momentum in the archipelago. Currently, the integration of newsrooms is debated between the challenge of being accepted with the media and the need imposed by the new context of visualizing it as the logical process that must be assumed naturally and coupled with the measure of each medium to move towards the Digital culture.
