Abstract

The objective of this work is to characterize the reproductive culture of the rural community El Guabino, from explaining the relationship between the major social, economic and political changes that have occurred throughout history. A triangulated methodology, where the reproductive behavior of the actors in practice was used was measured. The analysis of statistical data, questionnaire, key informant interviews were conducted and specialists, as well as the history of life theme were used. Was obtained as a result of research that major changes in reproductive culture of the community under study were related to the social, economic and political changes that happened to the revolutionary triumph of 1959. The main factors access was identified more efficient health and education systems, the incorporation of women in labor market, and religious practices are predominant in it.
