Some theoretical notes for the sociological understanding of family food security

The present article aims to assess the main theoretical and conceptual elements that make family food security from the sociological perspective. In this, an analysis is made to the theoretical references of (Luhmann, 2006), the conception of the change of José Marti and the sociological approach of the diet of (Diaz, 2005). For this, the research relied on the general methods of scientific knowledge and content analysis. The use of these methods allowed obtaining the following results: the mediating structures that intervene in family food security (power, money and language); Marti's sociological thinking referring to social conventions and the method of progressive disintegration in order to explain the problems surrounding the dimensions of family food security; and the perspective provided by Diaz on the need to establish links between food production and consumption.References
